The travertine floors lead from the great room directly out to the large lanai with a beautiful Heliotrope providing privacy and shade. The kitchen boasts granite counters, an island and GE Profile and Kitchen-Aid appliances. Each large bedroom has a dedicated tiled bathroom. The unit is luxuriously furnished. One of Makena Surf's wonderful pools sits close by and parking is nearby and efficient. This gated community is a premier vacation rental complex and the "B" building is the most highly prized location in the complex. This unit combines luxury finishes, size, a premier location, magnificent views and is as close to a sandy beach as is possible in the Wailea/Makena area.
After a ruling by the Hawaii Supreme Court regarding the legality of the Act that permitted the operation of the Superferry, the owners have decided to cease operations.
Maui Land and Pineapple has sold the Plantation Golf Course in Kapalua to TY Management for $50 million. The Resort will continue to operate the course for at least the next two years. Maui Land and Pineapple will use the proceeds to pay down debt.
One question people ask regarding Maui real estate is “Why should I buy now?” There are actually several; good reasons but first let us address the facts of the matter. The facts are that in the short term it is impossible to know what will happen and how events will affect prices. But over time, single events typically have their impact muted and demographics and long running economic and technological trends tend to take over. So with that in mind, here are a few reasons to consider buying Maui real estate now:
Due to our Internet presence and the quality of our marketing materials, The Wall Street Journal focused on our listing at 7640 Makena Road. The picture in the article is one of ours.
Up until very recently, most buyer's of Maui real estate, except for oceanfront homes, had a clear preference for one section of the island or another. People who preferred Kapalua could not be lured to Kaanapali or South Maui by a great deal. They were making a lifestyle choice. That relationship is clearly changing over the past several months. Now many buyers of Maui real estate are now deal driven rather than being tied to one location. That means sellers must consider comparables beyond their own neighborhood or even part of Maui in pricing a property.
